Some of my friends share music files with each other, but some people say that's stealing. What's the truth?

Paul McCartney and Steve Jobs met just before a concert not long before Apple's iTunes service was launched. When Jobs asked McCartney what he thought about online music sharing sites, Paul said something like: 'I've made my money in this business, but most musicians are struggling to keep their head above water.' He made the point that 'musicians should be paid for their work.'

Musicians are real people who deserve to be paid for their work. Yes, some make a lot of money, but that doesn't make it okay to take their paycheck. Also, copyright laws make it illegal to distribute a "copy" of a song or CD (in any format) to somebody other than the purchaser/owner.

If you own an original copy of a song, keep it to yourself. If somebody offers you a copy of a song, please just say, "For me, that just wouldn't be a wise thing to do." Christians who steal are like a dog who returns to his vomit... God saved you from that, so why go back to it?
